Another week one of my teaching career under my belt and, frankly, it’s been a great one. Except for my (exceedingly hopeful) pacing, everything has gone well. Students have learned the policies and procedures of my school; they’ve learned the routines for my classroom. Now it’s time to see if they can get some content.
This is going to be an interesting year for content. I’ve got two new textbooks to work from and many new lessons to work on. I don’t have to try to power through building the geography content with different perspectives. It’s nice to have it build for me. Now I’ve got to figure out the best execution and pacing for my students. There’s so much to learn and not enough time to get it all in.
Hard choices are ahead, but I’m glad for a smooth start to it all.
